| ● The new Power Arc IDS ignition development
system can be used to create custom ignition systems for 1,2,H-D,3,4,6 and
8 cylinder engines. The system uses a precision optical pickup and a
stainless steel rotor. The same rotor may be used for all engine types and
can be mounted on the crankshaft or the camshaft. A wide variety of
tachometers may be used 1,2,H-D,4,6 and 8 cylinder tachometers can be used
regardless of the engine type the ignition is configured for. High voltage
distribution can be done by a distributor cap or it can be distributorless
(coil based). There are two configurable input sensors. Each sensor state creates a separate adjustable ignition advance
curve and is graphically displayed. Each sensor state can have unique Rev.
Limit and RPM switch values. Ignition curves can be copied and pasted
between sensor states. There can be up to 3 sparks per compression stroke.
Each spark's timing can be independently adjusted by dragging points on
the graph. The coils saturation or the time the coil primary is energized
can also be controlled. The number of engine starts is recorded as well as
the number of times the engine achieves a maximum desired RPM (other
patents are pending). Ignition advance curves can be directly downloaded
from the
computer into the ignition module.

| ● Coil/Battery Protection Circuit- The coils are only energized only when the ignition senses camshaft rotation. In all other cases they are shut off. This eliminates coil over heating, ignition damage and battery drain. | |
| ● Low Vacuum (VOES) control wire- This wire whenever it is ungrounded retards ignition timing. The wire may be used with a switch to manually retard or advance engine. Whenever nitrous oxide is applied the control wire should be ungrounded to retard timing. Used in conjunction with the stock VOES, this control function becomes one of the most important tuning tools you have. If properly set you will increase performance, gas mileage, and life of your engine. IDS ignitions have two sensor inputs that can be programmed to any desired ignition curve. | |
